Art workshop in Greece!

Art workshop in Greece!

Please click HERE for website
I am so happy to announce that we (Leslie Martino and I ) have been finalizing this trip to Greece end of May and we have launched the website above. It is our intention to bring like- minded people together in this stunning environment, where we can  relax and enjoy painting, drawing, walks, magnificent boat trips to Blue Caves and stunning beaches, Greek art slide presentations, fantastic food and the intimacy of having only 10-12 people to create community in this safe and beautiful environment.
Zakynthos is an island in the Ionian Sea known for its beautiful turquoise waters, the famed 1980 shipwreck resting in a sandy cove framed by cliffs, numerous “blue caves” and spectacular rock formations.  The surrounding countryside is differentiated from the better known Cyclades islands by its lush vegetation and coniferous trees. One finds olives, currants, grapes and citrus fruit throughout the island.
We have the whole ocean-front property to ourselves,  I urge you to take a look at the website above and the itinerary to see the details. Many thanks to the talented and patient Liam Reckziegel and Leslie Martino for this beautiful website !
All the very very best to you, blessings  Helga

One Spirit

One Spirit

Share in the 9/9/9 energy of the 9th month, 9th day, of 2019.  Join us in Garden Cove, 2 hour drive west of St. John’s and east of Gander.  From Garden Cove, we get aboard of the Merasheen for the 40 minute sail to Woody Island. This rugged, quaint, beautiful Island, resettled in the early 1970’s has preserved much of its original heritage.  Woody Island offers a step-back-in-time, a magical retreat location like no other.  You will feast on home-cooked meals of pan fried fresh cod, pea soup, toutons & molasses, and fresh homemade bread, to name a few.
Your fee covers boat travel to and from the island, two nights’ accommodations, meals, workshops and evening programs. Individually these services would cost over $800.00 + HST.  Your cost is 480.00(taxes included). This is an amazing price for what you are getting!   I will pair you up if you are registering single and would like a partner for your room.  Some single rooms are available for additional $150.00.  Some Financial assistance is available for single parents and students. There is a very limited number of spaces, and will fill on a first come basis. You can pay $100.00 now to hold your space and pay the remainder before August 10th, 2019.
Number 9 is the number of Universal love, eternity, faith, Universal Spiritual Laws, the concept of karmaspiritual enlightenmentspiritual awakening, service to humanity, lightworking and lightworkers, leading by positive example, life purpose and soul mission, intuition, and strength of character.
The number 9 also resonates with learning to say ‘No’, it heralds the end of a cycle, closure, problem-solving, inner-wisdom, self-love, freedom, optimism and Divine wisdom.
If the number 9 and any of its connotations speak to you, join us for an amazing 3 days, 2 nights, on Woody Island where we can smell the salt spray of the ocean, see the dark night sky with its amazing stars, relax, and be pampered.
At this retreat, you will experience the beautiful Newfoundland landscapes and seascapes.  In September the earth is warm, the berries are ripe, and the bugs are gone!  Don’t Get Much Better Than That!!!

CLASS DESCRIPTION
Come and join us in the creation of a series of artwork based on the four elements – earth, fire, water and air. This can range from realistic to abstract, depending on your intention. Each day will offer an unveiling of a new element, with different moods and a unique color palette, in a supportive and beautiful environment. This workshop is for everyone – beginner or experienced artist.

We will explore different tribal cultures and how they work closely with the elements, including places such as Africa, Australia, and Bali, and use the surrounding beauty of the outdoors to inspire us. You also are invited to monoprinting with watercolor, using Styrofoam and acrylic plates.

The medium is watercolor, multimedia, or the medium of your choice. The teacher will bring some earth-based ochres that come directly from an Ochre mine in France, and we will mix them together in class!

Day One: We will begin inside by exploring African art through images and slides, and create an earth-based palette to inspire our sense of color. Weather permitting, we will also go outdoors to collect subject matter as well letting ourselves be inspired by the earth around us.

Day Two: Light, warm tones, rich reds, oranges and yellows and, if possible, creating our own charcoal with a fire on the beach. Looking at Australian aboriginal art as inspiration.

Day Three: Water. Using watercolor and watercolor prints we will explore the movement of water, its ubiquitous properties, and the depth of the blues and greens at cool end of the color spectrum. Seated by the natural setting of the ocean we use it as inspiration and as a medium. Painting and printing with watercolor, with the choice of other mediums on top.

Day Four: Air. Clouds and sky, galaxies, Hubble space photos. The movement of wind, and the ethereal nature of existence. The idea of creating images that have vast spaciousness, using a variety of formats, such as a very long landscape format.
